Leslie Sewell, The History Project

Head of The History Project, which produces historical documentaries, Leslie Sewell produced, wrote and directed Government Girls of World War II, which received national broadcast on PBS, was screened at the Library of Congress, and has been selected by numerous colleges and universities for their Women's Studies programs. Sewell is completing a film on Iraq and Afghanistan in conjunction with Manifold Productions, and is at work on a biography of Alexander Hamilton for PBS. An experienced senior television producer, Sewell has written, directed and produced network television programming for nearly twenty years. With experience in documentary production and short form news, she has produced for NBC Nightly News, the Today Show, the Public Broadcasting Service and National Public Radio. For PBS and the Fox News Channel, she has produced television pieces including Bill Moyer's Now, To the Contrary with Bonnie Erbe, and Special Report with Brit Hume. Sewell has managed live coverage and supervised logistical coverage of events such as national political conventions and presidential trips, and has supervised news correspondents, writers, editors, camera personnel and other technicians. Leslie Sewell has a BA from Northwestern University and is working on an MA in Classics at St. John's College in Santa Fe.
