Seth Tsui, Winner
Seth Tsui lives in Los Angeles, California, where his main focus is creating original music for films, commercials, and video games. Since graduating from DePauw University in 2011 with a trombone performance degree, Seth has tried to define his own path as a 21st century musician by touring nationally as lead vocalist and guitarist with his original rock band Addictive Stranger, playing trombone in jazz, funk and polka bands, playing Chinese music on the erhu and Turkish music on the kamancha, and even pushing the boundaries of electronic music creation with “music hackers” in San Francisco. Additionally, he has worked as head engineer in a recording studio, filmed a documentary in Inner Mongolia, and regularly records production sound for films.

After winning the inaugural CINE Film Scoring Competition last year, Tsui’s alma mater DePauw University performed his score live with their orchestra.
Ken Pierson, Winner
Ken Pierson (ASCAP) is an award-winning and experienced composer with a specialty in writing for film and video games. Ken began composing in 2001, received his first commission in 2003, and has studied under Dr. John Hilliard and Dr. David Cottrell at James Madison University. Ken prides himself on being able to provide dramatic, top quality, and original custom-tailored music for any project and hopes to connect with up-and-coming film and video game creators who seek to enhance their media with music of the highest caliber.
Robin Hall, Runner-Up
Robin Hall is an English composer, arranger and producer who writes music to meet the needs of today’s advancing media; and specializing in scoring music for film, television, video games, as well as music to accompany adverts on radio, TV and other types of interactive media. He holds a double degree in Film Scoring and Jazz Composition from Boston’s Berklee College of Music.
